When Everyone Orchestra makes a stop along the Front Range you can always count on a rousing good time and last Saturday’s Flood Benefit at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom showcased excellent musical theater and a community banding together in the wake of the devastating September floods. Everyone Orchestra is the brainchild of composer and vocalist Matt Butler, who brings together a different crop of musicians to jam and create songs for every run of shows.
Last Friday night J2G Live and Listen Up Denver! threw one heck of a dance party. With jams from the 1960s all the way up to this summer, Colorado musicians from a variety of different bands led the crowd into a groovetastic time warp of wondrous proportions. The lineup included David Murphy of STS9 & Members of The Motet, Euforquestra, Rose Hill Drive, YAMN, Fox Street Allstars, The Congress, DubSkin, Kinetix, Octopus Nebula, The Whales, and many more.
J2G Live and Listen Up Denver! are known for their yearly Revenge of the 90’s extravaganza, and now they are throwing a dance party that knows no limits. This Friday night Colorado’s best musicians will be traveling through decades of dance music guided by the Dance Party Time Machine. From the 60’s to Today, this show will jump from era to era, placing your dancing feet in various time periods, while your tab stays at Cervantes’.

For the last eight years Fort Collins based “High Octane Dance-Grass” band Whitewater Ramble have graced over 900 stages while steadily building a solid fan base throughout the country. It’s been almost three years since they released their first studio album, All Night Drive but the wait is nearly over. On the 26th of this month, Roots & Groove, the second release from the front range ramblers will hit the street.
Last Saturday, the LoHi Music Festival was held on 32nd Avenue in the heart of the LoHi neighborhood in Denver. The event was a smashing success by all measures, and judging by the smiles on the faces of music lovers everywhere I looked, it was well received by all who attended. This was the second year for the event and, wow did it grow fast! There were people as far as the eye could see from the main stage looking west on 32nd Avenue by the time Particle hit the stage with Michael Kang of The String Cheese Incident around six thirty.
