PICK OF THE WEEK: Soulive’s “Snowlive” – February 17th-19th – The Fox Theatre

Soulive will be hosting their own mini-festival, dubbed Snowlive, this weekend at The Fox Theatre. The first two nights will feature special guests JJ Grey and Jennifer Hartswick, while the third night will be an evening of “Rubber Soulive” named after the band’s album of the same name paying tribute to The Beatles.

Fox Street Allstars & Broken Tongues – December 16th – Cervantes’

Broken Tongues and Fox Street Allstars flipped the “Holiday Season Party Switch” into the ON position on Friday night and left everyone with a smile on their face. While Broken Tongues took us all on Funky Hip-Hop adventure that showcased tracks off their recent release “Crooked Skyline,” Fox Street Allstars cooked up a musical gumbo that is spiced with the sounds of New Orleans and has the aroma of the south. The room was on fire but we just let the mother burn and kept full glasses of beer on hand in case we needed to extinguish the flames.

Tedeschi-Trucks Band At The Top Of Their Game After Only 10 Months

When America’s First Couple of The Blues first met backstage at an Allman Brothers show in 1999, the music world was buzzing with the possibility of a collaboration. But instead the years passed without more than the occasional sit-in. In 2009 the roadblocks that had prevented them from going into the studio and writing material for a new band eased a bit and the Tedeschi-Trucks Band was born.
